Excalibur Resort Hotel and Casino Press Release

Excalibur Expands Poker Room
Excalibur Hotel and Casino responds to overwhelming popularity of poker by expanding the poker room.
Release Date: May 5, 2004

This newly remodeled space more than doubles the size of the previous room. Still located in the rear of the casino, the poker room now offers 20 tables of either 7-Card Stud ($1-$5 limit), or Texas Hold-em ($1-$3, $2-$6, $4-$8 and no limit).

“With more tables, space and low limits, guests can come in, relax and have fun while playing one of the best games in the casino,” said Tony Green poker room manager. “They are not playing against the house, they are playing against each other and continually improving their card playing skills.”

Green, the poker manager at Excalibur for five years, has seen poker’s popularity increase steadily with the success of televised tournaments. “The casual player, serious player or novice, which are all watching poker on television, can all play their favorite game here at a limit they are comfortable with.”

Excalibur offers free daily poker lessons at 2:00 p.m. for any guest that wants to learn or brush up on the basics. Also offered nightly, except Saturdays, is a two-item hot buffet for all players. Cocktail service is offered 24-hours a day.

Excalibur’s new poker room is now open and can accommodate any level of poker player. Visit them at www.excalibur.com or call (702)597-7625 for more information.

Located on the corner of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard, the medieval-themed Excalibur Hotel/Casino is home to “Tournament of Kings” dinner show, Jeff Hobson’s Money And Madness Comedy Show, Australia’s all-male revue “Thunder From Down Under,” five themed restaurants and Royal Treatment Spa & Fitness Center. The 3,991-room mega resort is owned and operated by Mandalay Resort Group.
