Palms Resort Hotel and Casino Press Release

Rock Star Poker Comes to Vegas
Sweepstakes Winners Can Go "All In" for a Chance at $10,000 With Dave Navarro, Tommy Lee and Goo Goo Dolls' John Rzeznik
Release Date: July 19, 2004

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and Clear Channel Entertainment Properties today announced the first Vegas Rock Star Poker Tournament and Sweepstakes. Set for August 26th to 28th at the Palms Casino Resort, the tournament will be a one-of-a-kind, exclusive event headlined by rock greats Dave Navarro, Tommy Lee and the Goo Goo Dolls' John Rzeznik.

Winners and their guests will thrill to the excitement and unpredictability of playing side-by-side with three of the most animated and talented artists in the music world. The weekend begins with a tutorial to get players game-ready, followed by a private "meet and greet" session and dinner with Navarro, Lee and Rzeznik. After the tournament, the winners will attend an exclusive after-party in the infamous Real World Suite at the Palms. The 2,900 square-foot, three-bedroom suite has become the most sought after high-roller suite in town.

Winners will be chosen from registrations at the tournament's official Web site – www.vegasrockstarpoker.com – and from winners of radio promotions in New York, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The sweepstakes began July 5 and continues through August 12, 2004 – the top prize is $10,000.

"Las Vegas excels in offering one-of-a-kind experiences and Clear Channel Entertainment Properties understood our interest in implementing nontraditional marketing tactics," said Terry Jicinsky, senior vice president, marketing, LVCVA. "Clear Channel's creativity, live entertainment expertise and access to top talent combined to deliver an innovative and memorable program for Vegas."

"Las Vegas sets a high bar for both excitement and originality," said Bruce Eskowitz, president of Clear Channel Entertainment Properties. "The LVCVA's clear view of the target promotions markets and the generosity of the Palms Hotel helped us assemble a strong mix of promotional vehicles to achieve their marketing objectives."

About Dave Navarro. Dave Navarro is the essence of a rock guitarist. Merging metal with psychedelic modern rock, Navarro became one of alternative's first true guitar gods that was not afraid to confine his skills to one style. These differences in style are evident in his ground breaking work with such notorious bands as Jane's Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Currently, Dave can be seen on the hit MTV reality show "Til Death Do US Part." The show takes the viewer through the unique preparation and planning of Dave's marriage to actress and model Carmen Electra. Navarro is also releasing a book on October 1, 2004 – Spread: A Year in the Life of Dave Navarro.

About Tommy Lee. Tommy Lee defines the true meaning of rock star. Cultivated on the Sunset Strip in the '80s, he elevated his band Motley Crue to legendary status, selling millions of records and defining a new era in Rock and Roll. After a 15 year career with the Crue, Tommy moved on to front his own successful band Methods of Mayhem as well as releasing his critically acclaimed solo album "Never a Dull Moment" in 2002. Currently, Tommy is gearing up for a book tour for the release of his autobiography in late 2004.

About John Rzeznik. John Rzeznik's flourishing career can be attributed to three small words – Goo Goo Dolls. As the lyricist, vocalist, and guitarist for this multiple platinum trio, Rzeznik has written countless hit songs, including the band's 1995 breakthrough hit "Name," the City of Angels' standout track "Iris," and the most played song of 1999, "Slide." John also released the solo hit, "I'm Still Here," for the Disney movie soundtrack Treasure Planet. The Goo Goo Dolls recently played a spectacular hometown show in Buffalo, NY, filmed by Warner Brothers Records, to be released as a DVD in the fall 2004. The band is currently in the process of putting together their eighth studio album.
