The Riviera's 50th is Just Around the Corner
Grab your party hat and head down to the Riv, with fireworks in the air and cake and champagne in the casino, it’s time to begin the Riviera’s Golden Anniversary celebration!

A month long of casino promotions and food specials highlight the festivities. The promotions include:
Play our "$40 of Slot Play for $20" Promotion and if you don't hit a cash jackpot, you'll receive your choice of gifts valued at $20 plus a Bonus Gift of $10 in Free Slot Play that can be used on more than 1000 slot and video poker machines throughout the casino. Over 30 gifts from which to choose, including 50th Anniversary collectible items.
"Oldies but Goodies" Promotion (April 1 – April 30) Play for entries in this promotion. 3 Winners will be Drawn Twice daily, 5 pm and 10 pm from April 1- April 30. Play to Win variety of Riviera historical memorabilia including: Set of four hand-painted collectible Millennium tokens, 4 individual hand painted collectible Entertainment tokens, plus gift merchandise.
"50 is Nifty" Promotion (April 11 – April 25) By playing on your favorite slot machine between 10 am and 9pm, you could be a winner. Every fifty minutes a random winner will be selected. Winners will receive All Things 50 - 50 pennies, 50 nickels, 50 quarters, 50 half-dollars, 50 dollars, 50 - $5 dollar bills, 50 - $10 dollar bills, 50-$20 dollar bills, $50 Gift Certificate to any Riviera Restaurant, and many other gifts.-
50th Anniversary Medallions (April 1 – December 29) Earn Riviera Advantage Bucks for this collectible piece with the Riviera 50th Anniversary logo on one side and Las Vegas' 100th Centennial logo on the reverse. Limit one per account.-
Play and redeem for other 50th Anniversary collectible items, Satin Jackets, Crystal Mugs, and Umbrella, 4-piece Mug Set, Caps, and T-Shirts. (through December 29).
During May through December, play and redeem for more 50th Anniversary collectible items. Watch for new promotions.
- Anniversary collectible items. New promotional drawings will be introduced through the end of the year and $40 of Slot Play for $20 Anniversary promotions through the end of the year.
- June through December - Celebrity Hand and Foot Prints, which were once part of the Riviera’s sidewalk along Las Vegas Blvd, can now be yours for the playing.
Decorate your garden, enhance a walkway, and highlight a room. Each month, June through December, register at the club if you are already a member or sign up if you are not and play to win one. Each month will feature different celebrities and players may participate in one celebrity promotion per month. Riviera does not provide a Certificate of Authenticity, but in some cases, you will be given a picture of the celebrity making the print. Hint - Hint, each slab of cement could be worth over $50 dollars (or multiples of $50 dollars!!!), depending on the celebrity.
The Ristorante Italiano, voted #1 hotel Italian Restaurant by RJ readers for many years, will feature complete dinners from 1955 for $19.55.
The famous Kristofer’s Steak House will serve complete dinners for two for $50.
Kady’s Coffee Shop will feature old-fashioned Blue Plate Specials starting at $4.95 and everyone’s favorite snack bar, Hound Doggies, located in the new Penny Town, will feature every item for $.99. Long lines are anticipated.
Cake and champagne will be served all the month of April in the Race Book Area on the Casino floor between the hours of 1 and 5 p.m.
Since the beginning of the year, one of Liberace’s (the Riv’s first headliner) many Rolls Royce’s has been on display, along with a photo exhibit on six 2-sided Leather kiosks, highlighting the many stars who have graced the Riviera’s stages.
Through May 5, Liberace’s mirror-rhinestone Baldwin SD Grand is on display in the main casino, by the Cage, and will be played daily in April by a Liberace scholar from 1 p.m to 5 p.m.
On the actual anniversary date (April 20, 2005), there will be a recreation of the ribbon cutting ceremony from April 20, 1955. The public and press are invited. A piano concert by Liberace impersonator Will Collins follows.
Visit the beginning of the Riviera’s Walk Of Stars collection, featuring the second and third celebrities to be honored during the Las Vegas Centennial: Liberace, and celebrating 20 years in “An Evening At La Cage,” Frank Marino.
Special fireworks performances highlight the nights of April 20 and 22nd. And on April 22nd and 23rd singing icon Michael Bolton will give two anniversary concerts. Details at the Riviera Box Office (794-9433).
All in all, the Riviera has a lot of things going on to celebrate its 50th including original showgirls from the 50’s, who will be available for photo opportunities.
