Cool Off With a Hot Game
Swim-Up Blackjack at The Tropicana
Release Date: April 20, 2005
It’s the time of year when there is only one question on everyone’s mind how do I cool off and still play my favorite casino table game? The answer is simple: Tropicana’s Swim-Up Blackjack, located in the main pool surrounded by five acres of lush tropical grounds.
The aquatic card game opens for the season on Saturday, May 27th just in time for visitors arriving for the Memorial Day weekend. Located in the indoor section of the main pool, the area includes two separate blackjack tables that can accommodate up to seven players each. Players can dive in to this lively card game from 11:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. daily. For the convenience of the game players, towels are on-hand to keep the players’ hands and chips dry.
While trying their luck at the popular card game, guests can enjoy exotic beverages from the Tropics Bar, just a splash away from the blackjack tables. Along with the traditional “tropical” drinks, like mai tais, daiquiris, piña coladas, and margaritas, guests can sip on the “Tropical Meltdown” or “Island Fantasy”, and enjoy their personal favorite drink in either a souvenir showgirl yardstick or hurricane cup.
The 12,000 square foot, free-form main pool with an island in the middle is one of the most popular swimming pools on the Las Vegas Strip. This large heated pool is open from 9 a.m. 6 p.m. during the season, which lasts from March 15 October 31, 2005. The adult Lagoon Pool is open 24-hours a day through the same dates. All pool hours are weather permitting.
Visitors are invited to make the most of their day at the Tropicana pool with rafts and tubes for rent; a water volleyball net; three separate jacuzzis; the Lagoon Pool for guests 18 and over only; the Coconut Grove Bar; the Pool Snack Bar; and the Tropics Pool Party gift shop.
Private cabanas are also available for rent to registered hotel guests. Cabanas include cable TV, a refrigerator, telephone, portable mister, ceiling fan, private dressing room, chaise lounges, chairs, a table, and a complimentary fruit basket. Room service and cocktail service can also be accessed from the cabanas. Reservations are required, and a charge of $105 for weekdays and $155 for weekends and holidays applies. The charge reserves the cabana for the entire day.
For guests looking for a more exercise-conducive pool configuration, the Tropicana offers the Garden Pool, located between the two original hotel buildings. Shaped in the traditional rectangle, this unheated outdoor pool is open year-round in a quiet setting for guests.
