There are a lot of great restaurants in Las Vegas. Some of those restaurants have big names and everyone knows about them. Hugo's Cellar, on the other hand, is one of those "secret" spots that not everyone knows about because it's hidden literally in the cellar at the Four Queens Hotel in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada.
If you're looking for a romantic setting to have a wonderful dinner, you would be hard pressed to find a better restaurant than Hugo's Cellar. As with most restaurants that offer fine dining, their service is outstanding. However, it's the little touches that set Hugo's Cellar apart from the rest. All woman are given a rose when they sit down at the table that they keep, bottled water is served at no extra charge, sorbet is served before your main course to cleanse the pallet and a wine steward stops by several times during your meal to assist with your wine selection.
For starters, I ordered a salad from Hugo's Salad Cart that's prepared tableside. The presentation was unique and the salad was great. As an appetizer, I had the escargots sautéed in shallots, garlic, burgundy wine and fine herbs topped with a light flaky crust and it was delicious.
For the main course, I ordered the Rack of Lamb Indonesion that was marinated in fine herbs and Indonesian spices and then carefully roasted. It was served with two mouth watering sauces on the side.
The Hugo's Cellar menu consists of seafood, steak, veal, rack of lamb and prime rib. Their wine selection is outstanding and you can't go wrong with their Bananas Foster or Cherries Jublilee for dessert. I recommend the Cherries Jubilee, but my wife recomends the Bananas Foster, so you'll have to decide between the two!
