Nobu Sushi Restaurant Review

Sushi is my favorite type of food and I've been to many sushi restaurants. I heard very good things about Nobu and I had high expectations before our visit. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed.

Don't get me wrong, the sushi was good and the atmosphere was outstanding but, for the price, I expected a more personal touch.

I'm a big fan of omakase style dining where you allow the sushi chef to select the sushi or sashimi to be served. However, when I asked the sushi chef for his recommendations, it seemed to catch him by surprise. Not only that, but some ingredients that are typical at other sushi restaurants (like quail eggs) weren't available at all.

In all fairness, I should point out that my wife, who doesn't really like sushi, really enjoyed a halibut sashimi dish that was prepared with fresh lemon and a delicate red spicy sauce. I thought it was very good too. As a matter of fact, all the dishes were good, but for the money, I expected a little more.
