Las Vegas Gambling Strategy and Casino Odds

There are many different types of games in Las Vegas. Some offer better odds than others. If the odds are more in your favor, you can make your money last longer and have more fun in the process. Remember, the odds or "house advantage" will always be in favor of the casino, but some games give you a better chance of winning than others.

The basic odds chart below shows the odds for some of the more popular games in Las Vegas. Please note: The chart assumes that you know how to play each game correctly. Studying basic strategy cards such as the Basic Blackjack Strategy Card will help you significantly.

Roulette and Blackjack Machines
If odds are important to you, and they should be, be careful playing the roulette and blackjack machines in Las Vegas. Most, if not all of the time, they change the payouts to significantly improve the house advantage. For instance, there are roulette machines that look inviting because they have a single zero on the wheel, but they only pay 34 on a straight bet instead of the typical 35. That gives the house close to an additional advantage of close to 3%.
